BarnRaising.Org™ WELCOMES PUBLIC TO EVENTS IN NEW BEDFORD, WESTBORO AND NORWOOD
A buzz is beginning to develop around Barn Raising™, a Massachusetts-based 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that is attracting attention for its innovative and effective program for career transitions. 70% of those who have participated in the Barn Raising™ program have found new positions or started new businesses within 6-9 months. To learn more, the public is invited to attend free “Barn Raising” EventsSM in these communities. Refreshments will be served.
- Thursday, Nov. 30, New Bedford, 4:00 to 5:00 PM at BANKFIVE, 174 Union Street
- Monday, Dec. 4, Westboro, 7:00 to 8:00 PM, BANK OF AMERICA, 306 Turnpike Rd./Rte. 9
- Wednesday, Dec. 6, Norwood, 6:15 to 7:15 PM at SOVEREIGN BANK, 153 Nahatan St.
Barn Raising™ takes its cue from the rural American tradition in which whole communities gather to help each other “raise” or build their barns. Barn Raising™ offers an affordable, proprietary seven-step program that elevates networking to a new level by guiding groups of job seekers to share their journeys and their contacts with each other.
The Barn Raising™ process culminates in a “Barn Raising” Event. At these receptions, candidates deliver brief, carefully-prepared presentations on their goals and skills to an audience of invited guests—and anyone else who wants to help out. Attendees are asked to enjoy the presentations, the refreshments—and to provide any suggestions, contacts, or information of value to the candidates.
Barn Raising™ is attracting the interest and sponsorship of corporations like BANKFIVE, BANK OF AMERICA and SOVEREIGN BANK; and of religious organizations, career centers, foundations and government agencies. The Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development has recently granted Barn Raising™ $150,000.
To learn more about Barn Raising visit the website at www.BarnRaising.org. To see Barn Raising™ in action, attend a “Barn Raising” Event. These events will be of interest to job-seekers, HR professionals, potential sponsors, and good-hearted neighbors everywhere.
